In 2024, we brought the essence of Nordic wellness to the tropics with a signature design project for a luxury spa resort in Phuket, Thailand. The goal: to create a world-class sauna and wellness zone that blends timeless traditions with contemporary aesthetics.
We began with a Finnish sauna, staying true to its roots: high heat, natural materials, and clean lines while adapting it to a tropical setting. Suspended benches, warm thermal wood, and a glowing stone wall around the stove created a deeply grounding atmosphere, engineered to perform flawlessly even in Thailand’s climate.
Next came the steam room, where we pursued calm minimalism. Large-format stone tiles, soft lighting, and seamless built-in benches offered a serene, meditative environment. A sculptural wash station added a refreshing ritual between sessions, balancing heat with cooling contrast.
Finally, we designed a futuristic infrared and salt room, integrating Himalayan salt bricks, infrared panels, and curved wooden loungers into a cocoon-like space. The result was an immersive retreat—merging detox, comfort, and visual elegance in one.
Together, these three saunas formed a refined wellness concept where fire, water, and salt came together in each space with its own soul, crafted for relaxation, healing, and beauty.
